IC:
In simple terms is In Character, which is mainly only used in intros a player would be posting on a new board. Will mostly be seen used by the ST/GM of a board to separate the setting, the background, ect. from the actual character.
Example for the ST/GM:
The setting of the storyline (Like a dirty downtown bar in New York, or an enchanted forest) Explain where everyone will be starting, so that they can make their into's accordingly.
Then if needed or wanted the rules of the board (i.e. No puppeting any NPC's at all, no OOC, ect.) But keep in mind, if you lay no rules down the normal role playing rules still apply such as; no god modding, no one liners, no puppeting or power playing, ect.)
Now to make the intro post flow better, you can either start a new post for the IC intro or simply put IC: Before your Character post.
