Literacy guideline:
-- Do not speak in first person, Unless you character is writing to/in something or someone.
-- Don’t use asterisk (i.e. *Sits down* or *Looks over at you*)
-- Use the characters name when using them in your sentence instead of saying you. (i.e. He gazed over at “name of character” with eyes of fear and uncertainty. -Instead of- He gazed over at you with eyes of fear and uncertainty.)
-- Make sure to break up your paragraphs instead of having one large paragraph. It makes it easier to read, and looks better.
-- Make sure when you post that it has the use of proper grammar, punctuation, capitalization, and etc.
-- Be sure not to use One-Liners on all boards
-- Be sure not to use Mini-Posting while on any literate boards.
-- Be sure you know what is going on in the story before you post. Also be sure that you are clear on what you are adding to the story, so the others can respond to your characters actions. (If you enter a plot well into the game, you can always PM the ST of that board to get you up to date so that you don't have to do too much reading.)
-- Make sure that all the spelling and capitalization are correct before posting your post. A good thing for this is, to write your post in Word or in something that has a spell check. Before you post anything. It will make it easier to understand for the other players, if they can read things easily.
-- If you aren’t sure about a post on a board you can either PM the person who wrote it, or if it is allowed by the ST/GM ask in OOC: what the person was meaning-- so that you understand before you post.
If you have any questions about this guide, don't be shy.. ask away.
